Favourite Block

I just love this block!

Shaded Trail

A little bit of progress

I have done three more blocks from the book Jelly Roll Sampler Quilts which I have posted earlier on. I do like the blocks as it is easy to do.

Spinning Star

Friendship Star

Water Wheel

I am going to re do the Water Wheel block. The block would be striking if I use a darker colour block in the middle in stead of the light fabric.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Chandre! Wishing a year full of love, laughter, good health and success in your studies. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Tote Bag

Here is my version of the Tote bag which we made a while ago. Finally finished the bag.

Golden Rand Quilt League

We had the Golden Rand Quilt League meeting on 18 May 2013. Just want to thank all the Ladies for their hard work in arranging the day. It is always nice as a Vendor to attend the function as it is so well organised.

Secondly, I want to thank all the Ladies who support me as a Vendor on these occasions. It is highly appreciated.

Jelly Roll

A while ago I have posted on the use of a jelly roll. Here is the first blocks I have managed to do far.

What could one do with a Jelly Roll?

Many a time, clients would ask what could they do with a Jelly Roll. The ladies always buys Jelly Rolls because it is so beautiful and pre cut but in the same sentence they would pose the question of what are they going to do with the Jelly Roll.

I love the Jelly Rolls and also have a stack of beautiful jellies that still need to become something. I have been dwelling on the idea  and came across the following book. Jelly Roll Samplet Quilts, written by Pam & Nicky Lintott.

One could make 10 different sampler quilts or 50 patchwork blocks from the patterns provided in the book. The instructions are user friendly and illustrated step by step by means of colour images.

I like that fact that one could choose from 8 " block sizes to 16" block sizes. What I like the most is the fact that one could make a whole quilt top by using one Jelly Roll.

I have started with my quilt top and is using a Jelly Roll from Moda Fabrics. I have chosen Sassy which was designed by Sandy Gervais. Although I love pastels, this Jelly Roll is such a bright and fun roll which I could not resist.
